Island Press

Island Press was established in 1984 to stimulate, shape, and communicate the ideas that are essential for solving environmental problems. It publishes approximately 40 peer-reviewed titles per year on topics ranging from biodiversity and land use to forest management, agriculture, marine science, climate change, and energy. Then it works to ensure this information is communicated effectively to the widest possible audience – via electronic media, earned media, and outreach to scientists, policymakers, the news media, and the general public.

As Island Press approached its twentieth anniversary, our agency team helped this unique non-profit organization reposition itself in the marketplace of ideas, beginning with a fresh brand identity. Together we developed a strategic brand framework, identity elements such as new stationary, and new collateral and marketing tools to bring their unique story to life in a fresh voice. By making information accessible, and presenting ideas that cut across traditional disciplinary lines, Island Press continues to act as leader in transforming knowledge into real solutions for a healthier planet.
